This book cover was inspired by the song "Only if for a Night" by Florence + the Machine. The song was written after a dream Florence Welch had in which she saw the ghost of her grandmother who had committed suicide when she was younger. Florence had been suffering from a case of depression around the time she had this dream.
She interpreted the dream as her grandmother advising her to be strong and not let the depression get to her, since she had suffered from the same condition. After the dream, she was glad that she got to see her grandmother at least for one more night. The entire cover was painted digitally in Photoshop. The layout was set up in InDesign.
