When I first met Emma, it was the semester after a very close friend of mine left MSU. I clearly recall praying for someone else to come along to fill this empty void because I knew my close friend had to focus on herself, and there would be no time for me. Which is understandable, I'm a proud believer of taking care of yourself. Moreover, throughout my life, I've always had that strong female friend by my side from elementary school to high school, and I needed one for college. Freshman year, I was constantly changing my circle of friends because I couldn't find that one who could handle my spontaneous lifestyle. Sophomore year, my first semester as an RA this resident comes up to the desk and just stares at me for a moment and sparked up a conversation like we'd been talking for years. Had no idea what her name was, nor did I know that she would become one of the best examples of a bond that people search for their entire lives. I found the one, and I love her with all my heart. Nearly four years later, at last The Bond is captured. Most people know that it is simple to become friends with someone, even best friends but to keep that bond pure and strong you truly have to endure and accept everything about that individual. Their flaws, their troubles, their mistakes and most importantly their past. So many people walk into each other's lives with so much baggage that when they finally disclose such information to you, if you react in any way besides compassion, the bond instantly breaks. That is one thing that I am proud to say our bond has not done, although we've irritated each other to the point of not talking. But it never has gotten to the point of no return. Lastly, this photoshoot emphasizes the pure essence of Maw & Paw, our nicknames for each other, and how awkward we have come off to so many people over the years. We've tested the comfortability of several people, and it keeps getting better. I will gladly be hanging these photos up in my studio in Nevada, loud and proud so I can tell the world that my best friend and I are beautiful human beings who like to have fun while chasing their dreams.
