Brief:
This project is about Toronto-based organization, expanding and creating a divergent art and design culture beyond the defined boundaries of East and West. Pejvak’s goal is to echo voices of people of both cultures and encourage connections in order to inspire, appreciate and celebrate unique values and identities, through a new inter-cultural communication language that uses the tools of art and design.
Pejvak means “echo” in Farsi Language. Pejvak is a dynamic play of similarities and differences but with echo these exist in an utterance made at two different times and places. The ideas provided by echo are similar because the words that return are identical; at the same time the ideas are different because the two contexts within which the words are understood, then and now, are different. Pejvak is thus The New that has deep roots in matters of art, design and culture.

Pejvak celebrates seasons by having quarterlies and presenting artists and designers of different disciplines, and having various cultural events. For the matter of organization each season has its own colour that can be used appropriately (not dominant over our main colours) along with the signature colour, teal.
