Honored to be asked to participate in the official Marvel's Avengers — Age of Ultron official show at Hero Complex Gallery in LA.
I wanted to pay tribute to the enormously rich history of earth's mightiest heroes. My piece is based on the cover of Mighty Avengers 67 published in 1969 "We Stand at Armageddon" I swapped Vision for Captan America and decided to include only Iron Man and Hulk. Adn you can't really pay tribute to Avenger's history without getting a little KirbyKrackle in there ;-) I tried to convey as much energy as possible to the piece while giving Ultron a majestic, powerful presence.
As for Ultron I've got to say, it was exhaustive drawing him, there's just an insane amount of detail to him, the more you look at his design the more lines and mech you find! I think the speedlines add a dramatic, dynamic effect to the whole illustration. I enjoyed doing Ultron but let's just say I was glad when I was done with the thing! As for Iron Man, Hulk and Cap, well you can't get tired of drawing them!
Hope you enjoyed the piece and thanks for stopping by :-)
