Every story has its actors. Anyway if they are realistic human, sweet animals, brute monsters or something really different, they are the ones that live in the story. They generally reflect personalities of us humans, sometimes critical, sometimes funny.
When I create a character I allways look into myself first, because the creature I will create must symbolise a thought or even an emotion. If I don't feel that ist won't work.
