Voortsche Bieren Identity

Branding for a local Dutch brewery: Voortsche Bieren.

At the end of the Middle Ages, the first breweries were founded in the Veluwe. The oldest known one in this area was the brewery at the Moriaen Inn (1453) in Voorthuizen. This inn stood at the junction of two important trade routes; from Amsterdam to Deventer and Harderwijk to Wageningen.

Until the mid-18th century, beer was regularly brewed here. For unknown reasons, the activities ceased around 1750. Voorthuizen has had no brewery ever since. With the arrival of the Voortsche Bieren brewery, this beautiful tradition has been restored.

For over twenty years five enthusiastic men brew beer in their microbrewery in the original way. A number of unique recipes have been developed, and now the three best beers are brewed on a large scale.
