Cube2 is a mono-material house entirely made out of metal. Developed in 2014, during our second year at IED Milan. Designed together with Saga Sigridardottir and Laura Rosenberg.
A weekend house designed for one or two people. The concept was created around compact living and resulted in a multifunctional cube inside the bigger cube, where the volume is used to its maximum.
The interior is a designed around the cube structure. Inside is the bathroom and on top you find the bed and storage. Facing the kitchen is a fridge and a sofa intergrated into the side of the cube, next to the steps up to the bed.
The goal of the project was to explore and experiment with the use of materials. This by using mono-material for six different versions of the same layout. Through this came deep research of building materials including concrete, hemp, rammed earth, plastic, glass, and especially metal.
