PORT25 | apartment | M

This project derives it’s program from the inadequacies of an existing new duplex apartment. By working within the confines of regulations, the façade has been left untouched while the entire interior spaces was articulated into a seamless open space.

Rituals of living and circulation are engaged as an evolving sequence of spaces, each oriented to take advantage of framed views of the horizon. Monolithic industrial coating white floor, stair and walls  deliberately flatten the perception of depth and concurrently enhance the open plan.

On the first floor, spaces were reconfigured to adapt to the client’s needs. Radical solutions include installation of a glass covered bridge structure over the existing stairwell void as a connection between two separate spaces.

Minimalist qualities further intensified our pursuit for exceptional detailing in this project. This persistence is illustrated in the unorthodox use of materials coupled with bespoke construction details developed specifically for the apartment.
