Low budget/Ready made Catamaran model
Low budget catamaran model. Using left overs as materials, this model intends to prove tha we can do a high tech runing prototype with a budge surrounding 10€. We have done it with left overs such as cloth hangers for the hull linkage structure, the hulls and sail are from an old bodyboard, wich was a promotional gift (we can say it was a sponsered project!), and those are made of expanded PE (hulls) and Nylon (sail). We also had some Meccano parts (from an incomplete kit), some kite's spares (Carbon fiber, very high tech!), cables and electrician clamps (the clamps used as tensioners). We used glue in only 6 points, a 2 componete epoxy resine (Araldit glue), the rest are mechanical connections only.
It navigated very well and fast, we tuned it to go and come back in a lake, phase two is to put some RC gear in it.
This model was done with the precious help of my two suns.
