App concept enabling people to meet up and play sport in their local area

 

I created the concept of Godo as a social networking service where people can meet up and play a sport of their choice in their local area.

 

The idea came from how people who play predominantly individual sports such as golf or surfing can meet up with likeminded people and do their sport.

 

I wanted to make the app feel very personal and be a joy to use but also be readily connected to all other users in the area. Animation of all the elements is what gives it the character needed to give the user a ‘wow’ factor when swiping around the main hub searching for someone to play sports with. Motion blur and movement are also used to create an enjoyable user experience.

 

The hub was derived from the need to keep exact locations of users private while being a location driven app at the same time. The icons are arranged in order of direction and distance however the exact location is not shown. As the user swipes around the board, icons become bigger the closer they are to the centre. This improves legibility for the user and ease of use.
