This projects contains the design of a kindergarden in Peristeri, a suburb of Athens.
During the process of the design, all the surroundings of the building area were taken into account. The place is about a neighborhood that combines both industrial features and features of a mild residential area.
The basic form came out considering the borders of the site, translated into spatial entity, and, also, as a try to create a structure with plasticity, that will refers to its function as a kindergarden and that will be attractive to little children.
The building consists of two basic volumes with different form and different structure, that hurtle and get combined. Each volume includes different functions. The most plastic form includes the classrooms and is the major part of the kindergarden, whereas the other includes the administrative part. In the center of the site is placed the forecourt.
