This project was a labor of love depicting every city I've ever had the good fortune to call home. It starts out with my hometown in Kolkata, India and ends in New York City where I currently reside. The entire book is 8 inches in diameter.

 

The six cities shown below are (begins with a micro view, and ends with a macro view) -

1. My parent's house - Kolkata, India 

2. Boarding School - The International School Bangalore, India

3. College - Rhode Island School of Design, Providence USA

4. The Duomo - Florence, Italy

5. The SeaLink - Mumbai, India

6. The Skyline - New York City

The entire book is handmade/ handcut and uses no glue. It opens out to become a globe, but can also close shut like a regular book.

Each page casts very interesting shadows in different kinds of lighting.

The book is bound together with a paper piano hinge.
