Depth Of  Field (DOF) is a quite strange thing in photography. It can destroy a shot because it is too high or too low as well. It could be a nightmare for macro-photographer with some millimeters available (especially when it is windy...) or for a portrait photographer if the background is too sharp (but not always).

What I love with shallow DOF is the background that is created like a painting. Especially with flowers. It gives a splendid variety  of natural "wallpapers".
