Each person will have 16 chess pieces, 8 Pawns, 2  Rooks, 2 Knights, 2 Bishops, 1 Queen and 1 King.

Infront are the 8 Pawns, on the left you'll have 1 Rook, 1 Knights, 1 Bishop and 1 Queen and on the right 1 King, 1 Bishop, 1 Knight and right rook. Bellow Is a chess board for example.
Correct place for the Queen piece.
Incorrect place for Queen piece.

The left side of the board where both Queens are placed is called ‘Queen side of the board’ and the right side where both Kings are placed is called ‘King side of the board’.

                                             Queens side                   Kings side

The most important squares on the Chessboard are the four center ones. Major and minor pieces placed there can greatly increase their mobility, exert considerable pressure and tend to control more space.
