Eureka "Global Warming"

EUREKA
"Eureka" is a research topic about the scarcity of a scientific theory. The brief stated two recreate a scientific theory with the following "scarce" materials. Paper, string, tape (glue) & perspex (acrylic).

Using these materials you begin to investigate your scientific theory. Those options where weather, force, gravity , season, weather, or any other proposed theory. This body of work derived from weather and seasons. Eventually leading into natural disasters and behind natural disasters comes "Global Warming"

Global warming has multiple stages and over the years global warming keeps affecting us. From serious snow storms, to hot steaming weather. The design here shows the process of global warming. First taking each of the layers into consideration the sun & sun rays, the ozone, and finally the earth. During global warming sun rays go into the ozone and eventually into the earth and warm it up. As the sun rays reflect back into the ozone some are trapped and not able to leave the ozone because of the green house gases which are produced by us "humans."
The rays are the red and yellow strings, the grey is the ozone layer and the green is the earth.
Each of the holes to create these string figures symbolize the way global warming is. The criss cross of the ozone symbolizes the protective state of the layer and the multiple holes symbolize the earths quantity & mass structure.

The box like structure, is hand held. The purpose behind that was for the user to hold it and interact with the piece. Most important was to be able to hold it up to the sun and see how Global Warming actually works.
