Paper Sculpture - New Way of Seeing Things

This project - designed for personal use - was initially inspired by an intricated stained glass window paper sculpture by the artist Eric Standley. He uses hundreds of layers to create intricate sculptures of symbols and stained glass windows. You can see some example of his work here -  http://melbournelasercutter.com.au/laser-cut-paper-art-by-eric-standley/.

So although my idea was a single layer of paper, I wanted to included as much of the intricasese as possible. Originally hailing from the UK and now living in Melbourne, Australia, I wanted to include a quote about travelling and the symbolic nature of a human's interest to explore the new.

All of this resulted in the finished article below, which was mounted onto black card and place within a box frame, ready for hanging.
