Needed a simple clean logo. Like Dragon Wear. An abstract icon of a gecko in a circle. It doesn't have to exactly be like a gecko, it can be line art or a gecko curling into a circle.
Solution: Instead of creating a logo with a gecko, I used only its hand. It's still recognizable as a gecko or part of a gecko and will look simple enough to fit in a circle. Also tried to incorporate 'G' into the logo.
My client instantly liked the logo so I tried it in some mockups just to see how it would look.
Initial design for GekkoCreative
The logo worked well on the mockups, but I wasn't so sure about the circle surrounding the gecko hand. So I experimented and developed it a bit more and ended up with the logo below. I gave the circle thicker lines and rounded the sharp corners.
Then I experimented in the logo position. I really liked the font I used in this logo, but my client wanted something else. Thus having the final design at the bottom.
