+ Arterial Maps
Arterial explores the complexities of light rail networks and their unique compositions. As a series, each data visualisation highlights the identity of light rail networks as part of the fabric of cities; physically embedded within the landscape of the city as well as generating connections between people and places.
Each map is hand embossed. The purpose of which is to metaphorically represent the nature of transport networks, ingrained within the material makeup of cities. Furthermore, i wanted to explore new ways of communicating data that draw upon the sense of touch. The aim is for people to see data as well as feel it.
The data is compiled from reports by Transport NSW and various global transport operators.
