MUSEUM OF THE EVERYDAY

The Museum of the Everyday was founded in 2014 with the intention of collecting stories of everyday objects and encouraging an appreciation for the ordinary. Each object in the exhibition is drawn from our everyday environment - the objects were created by many designers and inventors to accomplish amazing feats and simplify our lives; usually, we pass by these small wonders without noticing them and their importance. The Museum of the Everyday is a platform to praise the importance of these objects.

For this project, I was apart of the publication crew. So we were in charge of the designing and production of the books for the museum goers. For the cover we wanted to do a minimalistic approach and black on black, making the title, "Museum of the Everyday" seem almost transparent and invisible against the black background, relating to the items in the museum that we pass by every day.  It is located in the upper left side and can be seen more when turned towards the light.
Here is the map of where all the numbers are located, creating a sort of wayfinding system for the participants.
Our complimentary MOTE toats given to the museum participants! Made by the advertisement crew.
Located around the building we had acrylic circles with numbers on them that coordinated with the numbers in the book. These numbers were pointed at the objects that were being described in the book. Everyday objects we don't notice or appreciate the significance of. And in the book we had the history and origins of the objects, giving back significance and meaning to such everyday objects.
Below we have the stands that held the programs that our group made. There were 2 of them located on opposite sides of the building, filled with programs to encourage people to walk around and find all of the items in the book and learn a little about the things that surround us.
