The Perth annual event 'Celebration of Women Long Table Lunch' has developed into one filled with friendship, fun and laughter. It continues to be the key occasion of its kind on the Perth social calendar, attracting a sellout crowd of over 700 guests including corporate guests, Perth socialites, ladies who lunch, supporters of Breast Cancer Care WA, breast cancer survivors and families of loved ones who have been on their own breast cancer journey. Each year we honour brave women who have been diagnosed with or lost their lives to breast cancer; it is a time for people who have been touched to reflect and remember, and also a chance to celebrate with those that have survived their journey. What makes the day truly unique is that so many great Western Australian businesses and individuals get behind the event and offer their support in their own way. Every item used is generously donated or heavily discounted; including decorations, wait staff, napkins, cutlery, entertainment, auction items, prizes, food and beverages. Even top WA chefs, usually in competition with one another, come together to donate their time to present an amazing 4-course lunch for the guests to enjoy. Read Less

BREAST CANCER CARE WA's SIGNATURE EVENT

OBJECTIVE

Last year alone, Breast Cancer Care supported 827 women thanks to the generous support of community donations.
It was vital to give this event its own unique and distinctive approach and visual difference to help achieve the charities key goals. The aim of the design outcome was to differentiate it from other breast cancer organisations. Pink is often associated with research, but here in WA purple represents emotional, practical and financial support.

Our execution began with design thinking, from creative ideas to promote and showcase the event. These various discussions and workshops lead to the development of a cursive monogram. This helped utilise the initials “LTL” that wrapped gently around the theme, using dramatic thick to thin shapes, abstract and ornate in form. This led to the encapsulating of the essence of the Breast Cancer WA Branding elements in its subtle feminine tone, watercolour texture, intimate colour scheme and precise use of typography. This monogram not only became the central element  which the event branding was built, but has now been adopted as the sole brand mark for future “Long Table Lunch” fundraising events.

A big thank you to all who supported, sponsored and volunteered for the 2015 Long Table Lunch, $344,560 was raised which included over $60,000 in generous pledges to fund a Breast Care Nurse for a year.
