KUROKAWA WONDERLAND

A young man who has lost his lover visits the Kurokawa Onsen village, in the backwoods region of Japan's Mt. Aso, where she used to love to go.
As he journeys through the mountainside, the figure of a girl appears before the young man. She looks exactly like the legendary ancient dancer from the myths that have been handed down since ancient times in Japan.
As the two make the journey together, they come across some of the earliest remembered scenes of Japan, and they meet up with the people of Kurokawa, living in the closest relationship with nature and who represent the gods and goddesses of ancient Japan...
In this project, KUROKAWA WONDERLAND, design house Exit Film inc. has worked with residents of the film’s setting, Minami-Oguni and the Kurokawa Onsen Resort, as well as Tokyo-based creatives with a background in various fields and genres to produce work with an aim of promoting both Kurokawa itself and the work of the creators to a global audience. This has been achieved through portraying the culture, atmosphere, and traditions that belong to the artisans residing in the area.
Exit Film inc. fulfilled management and administrative roles throughout the project as a whole as well as direction of the film that is the project’s core.
