WYSB is a consumer oriented smart packaging system based on RFID technology. Food packaging can communicate with personal devices through an app that receives and elaborates related information: tracking, history of the product, substances contained in the food, ecological footprint, nutritional facts and much more. The project aims to foster the consumers’ awareness about the environmental impact of their purchases and to reconnect them to the processes and the stories behind food products. Furthermore, WYSB intends to limit food waste and stimulate interest in the productive process of the goods.
The project has been selected for the Cumulus Exhibition, which will be held at Expo Milano 2015.
