This project required us to look at our first sconce and redesign it using curved lines. For me this meant a great opportunity to design something in one of my favorite styles, Art Nouveau.
I really wanted to take this project to the next level and challenge myself. When I first came up with the design it was not in perspective and I had not drawn something like this before but I was able to figure out with relative ease.
The following sketches show the developmental process for this design. As you can see in the top left of the first set of drawings, I began with a very similar design to the original rectilinear sconce but as I went on refining the design it really began to take shape nicely.
