Another design piece which there is no shortage of, the Matariki calendar and booklet.  Initially knowing absolutely nothing about Matariki I first had to do some research around the matter, discovering that Matariki referred to a constellation of stars and the Maori New Year I set about developing my calendar. Confined to only two colours I began experimenting with ways of using these to my advantage when it came to developing hierarchy. Once again purple makes its way into my work, this time accompanied by orange. The varying shades and sharp contrast between the two colours gave some life to the otherwise strict layout.
