The project is a part of the overall development and update of the short / long term master plan of the university in Makkah. The project aim is to redevelop and update the existing academic campus which consists of theoretical and practical colleges that need expansion areas to accommodate the increase in students population based on the projections and speculations studied by the assistant of the American consultant office : Dober Lidsky, planners & Davis Brody Bond , architects and planners LLP The project consists of 19 colleges as the main aim of the planner was to create an urban fabric which reflects the new technology and the Islamic culture and maintain the spiritual and planning approaches which focus on the Islamic architectural features.
UMM ALQURA UNIVERSITY MASTER PLAN (CURRENT 2010) SITE C WHICH IS OF A TOTAL AREA OF 990 HA it includes the male academic campus and the medical academic campus plus support facilities and recreational areas and the university stadium and sports arena to the east south direction.
