Challenge:
To create a variety of hand drawn pieces, ranging in style and mediums to go into an end publication. Using a vast amount of hand lettering techniques, throughout a semester, different posters and imagery are designed. The only true limit on most works is to draw or paint by hand.
Solution:
A compilation of works put together as a whole to represent ranges of skill and ability. Watercolor, pointed pen and other tools are used to create each piece. Whether it be a mini poster, wrapping paper, or an alphabet set, hand lettering allows for absolute creativity. Not every piece is meant to look the same. The end goal is to have different works that evaluate the evolution of lettering skills over a semester's timeline. The restrictions are loose to leave room for self expression.
