This project was my senior thesis during my second to last semester of design school. I had to pick a topic that interested me/personal to me and had to design an informative series about the topic. I chose the topic of post traumatic stress disorder because it was something that I was currently going through at the time; and I didn't understand it at all. I researched other designers that have a large impact and influence on my personal design work. I also researched other influential people within the areas of my topic. In order for me to understand the inner workings of this anxiety disorder, I had to research the disorder itself.
I decided on doing a series of posters for this campaign that expressed the emotions of PTSD through typography and illustration. I also wanted this project to be geared towards everyday people and not just for people suffering from the wars. It seems as though our society today focuses their attention on war veterans with PTSD, and not people that had other traumatic experiences; such as rape, car accidents, and physical abuse.
