We designed a color coding system for our factories that makes things easier on our employees and increases efficiency. Unique colors differentiate the equipment used for different parts of the production process (for example, a range of blues for in-process clay, orange and red for post-firing) and separate our different clay bodies. There’s another reason: since we don’t hide our factory away, we wanted it to feel cohesive and seamless. From public spaces to production spaces, the same visual rules apply and even allow us to share similar tools like stools and carts between the showroom and the factory floor. It’s all part of a single cohesive design vision.
