Exploring various techniques when using the relief printing process. Gradient backgrounds can completely change the mood and style of a piece. I really wanted to explore the use of printmaking for illustrative purposes. I think the lino prints work great, the only issue I have with them is they give the creatures in the illustrations a more friendly feel. If the illustrations were for a very young audience, I would have been pleased with this outcome. Since the illustrations are going to be aimed more at an older audience, I believe this process will not be my process of choice for the final prints.
