This project came about on my micro-residency with some students to the Haystack School of Craft on Deer Isle, Maine. In this trip, we were encouraged to fully engage with the nature and leave any predisposed plans for artwork in Boston while we let the natural environment dictate our creations. I was inspired by the bright blue mussel shells that I would find along the treelines by the ocean. After spending many hours collecting them from the cliffs above the water, I arranged them in a fluid path to mimick a stream of water returning to sea. This photograph is from the second day of the installation.
