A SOCIO-CULTURAL APPROACH FOR THE URBAN REVITALIZATION OF THE JHELUM RIVERFRONT IN SRINAGAR

The socio-economical and the culture are completely different. A need for conserving the vernacular heritage is uncommon among the local inhabitants, as their economical situation does not allow them to put money in proper maintenance of their houses. It is because of this that an alternative strategy to preserve and conserve the Historic urban heritage of the Jhelum Riverfront in Srinagar need to be found.

MAPPING THE LAYERS OF THE URBAN LIFE IN THE CITY
