The Drop Table is an exercise in precision, and in going with the flow. Inspired by pouring paint, we expose the underside of the free-flowing paint patterns as they appear sandwiched between legs of acrylic. The result is a resin-like appearance light in visual weight. A contrast exists between the computer-generated, structural acrylic legs and the unruly drips of paint. The wood surface is repurposed from an existing maple tabletop. Designed in DART 380 3D Digital Concepts with Erwin Regler, rendered in Rhinoceros 4.0.
