FREELANCE PROJECT BY KENNY WANG
This residential space is a personal project that I want to create a platform for the modern day citizen in an industrial city. The project plays with the daily functionality with modern design, in which offers the maximum use of the space for the “on the go” city residence.
Inspired by Danish contemporary design, a monochromatic palette is used in creating a classic, sophisticated, and elegant space. Through thoughtful selection of each piece of furniture, the space is filled to give a soothing feeling of a contemporary home.
The wide-plank oak hardwood floor is the foundation in warming up the monochromatic palette. The various shades of gray are incorporated to balance the flow throughout each area. The Saarinen dining set helps soften the edgy look of the space while the Ploum Sofa by Bouroullec brothers display a strong inviting personality as a centerpiece for the living room. The tile in the bathroom displays the appearance of crinkle paper, which adds a whimsical attitude while maintaining the simple minimal look. Lighter shades of creams and white were used in giving the bathroom space the feel of welcoming and relaxing.
