The Screwed Arts Collective is a group of 9 artists that I take part in. http://www.screwedarts.com/
The fall of last year (2011) we took part in the Art Prize competition held in Grand Rapids Michigan. This has been out 3rd "wall drawing" to date, and had obtained a pretty excellent space in the UICA building in downtown Grand Rapids.
We had about 10 days to complete this wall drawing working entirely collaboratively and entirely improvisational. The dimensions are roughly 95' long by 22' tall, and being on a ramp it made it quite challenging with the scissor lifts.
We had tried to plan what we were putting on the wall thinking it would save us time, but in the end having 9 artists with very different styles and opinions, it proved to be much harder to stick to a plan. It almost felt constricting and limiting of what we could and couldn't, and after all, we weren't just painting a neat mural that would look good in your local shopping mall. So communication was key, we pushed and pulled and vibed off each other then whole way through.

Anyway, enough talk about it. we documented the process of the 10 days we were installing and painting, so check out the videos Chris Harris put together.

Also if anyone is interested to see more pictures or keep up with what we are getting into next, check out our Facebook page. We are planning on having some more shows this year so keep your eyes peeled. http://www.facebook.com/SAC.STL
