Fashion Design - About A Girl

About A Girl
at
University of Applied Arts Vienna

About a Girl is a fashion collection developed in 2009 at the University of Applied Arts.
The main inspiration was Marie Antoinette (born 1755 as Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna) the Queen of France before the French Revolution.
Known for a lavish lifestyle the people of her time didn't blink twice when she was executed by the guillotine in 1793 on the Place de la Révolution for high treason.
As monarchy was abolished she was also the last Queen of France.

Her ambiguous story inspired me as she was also a caring mother,
profoundly involved  with nature and a person who indeed was capable of deep affection (Hans Axel von Fersen). A dramatic yet exciting biography of a young woman who became the symbol of an outdated regime.
