Rancid (2011)
The feature, Rancid, shot in April 2011, in the abandoned hospital of Kempton Park, is a local horror film as well as one of the few films where the characters are thrown unknowingly into the world of failed medical experiments resulting in the idea of 'human lab rats', and ultimately dealing with the concept of 'zombies'.
Being 1st assistant to the Production Designer, the talented Richard Redman, we would run every inch of the Kempton Park hospital each day for a month dressing locations, undressing locations, and then redressing them again, 'bloodifying' and oxidizing each wall and floor we could possibly get our hands on with the result at the end of the shoot being a satisfactory one indeed. Having been such a small tight-knit crew, it was a quite the experience to have worked with the incredibly hardworking and dedicated Alistair Orr to the talented and creative DOP, Brendan Barnes. It was truly a memorable experience that I would not hestitate to do over again.
