Since early 2012 in Germany, the profession of chimney sweep, which includes such fields as energy, heating and fire security,
has been undergoing a status change, becoming more liberalized. Therefore, each of the "Schornsteinfegermeisterbetrieb"
(Master Chimney Sweep Service Provider) needed to develop a new identity to survive in the changed marketplace.
The concept was to take the symbols of the Schornsteinfegers and to combine them with Berlin. The four figures stand for the
four aspects of the profession: "Umweltschutz" (environmental protection), "Beratung" (advice), "Sicherheit" (safety),
and "Brandsicherheit" (fire safety). They are dressed as chimney sweeps, and display the emblematic tools,
along with the clover, as the chimney sweep is said to bring good luck in Germany.
