Sketch problem for my architectural thesis. Turned out to be one of the heaviest things I've ever had to deal with. Also turns out after my mid-review critique that the product isn't as important as the process, which is one reason why I am highlighting the entire process rather than the finished object. Read Less

Idea
After reading online about things to coat the inside of the mold with, I came across someone using blue painter's tape. This worked very well and it was something I already had a good supply of so no additional costs at that point in time.
I thought this was a cool shot. Shows some imperfections with the corners not being 100% square. I attrubite this to shop equipment being slightly off square as well as rushing to get this put together and the concrete poured in time.
Box before the pour
Before the last 4 gallon pour showing some of the rebar that is imbedded. Each bar is bent at a 90 degree angle and turn the corner into an adjacent 'slab'
Finished Project. 18" x 18" x 18" Cube/module. Each 'slab' is 4" thick and the dimensions vary between 18"x 18", 14" x 18" and 14" x 14"

I did't think the painter's tape would leave this big of an impression on the final product but it was a unexpected element that I really enjoy.
