I had the priviledge of working on an infographic for Mzalendo Trust. Apart from processing the Kenyan Parliament Hansard data, and coming up with ways to visualize it, I also enjoyed the designing of it. For the complete infographic - MPs 2014 Reportcard.
Here are the National Assembly representatives icons. The outer jacket is red because the National Assembly deals with laws that govern the entire country. The green waistcoat represents their effect of the counties.
Here are the Senate represatatives icons. The outer jacket is green here because the Senate proposes and oversees laws that affect the counties in Kenya. The red waistcoat represents their effect on the country at large.
So that the inforgraphic has some depth and eye-candy, I rendered the front facade of the Kenyan Parliament building. It was an interesting study on 1960's architecture in Kenya.
As always, another thing I enjoy are the visual alignment. It just adds that extra "something". :-D
I really look forward to working with other people and organisations in figuring out the infographics they would need. It is always an interesting challenge to mold data into graphics.
