Project Brief:
To create a new Manayunk Area Health Center in the four-story building at 214 Leverington Ave. with administrative offices and community spaces on the first floor, and Primary Care and Pediatric clinics on the second floor.
The brief was later changed by the design team in order to facilitate a dental clinic in the building, instead.
Concept:
During the initial phase of concept development, a number of different concept ideas were considered, briefly developed and were finally narrowed down to one:
Humans’ mouth.
Based on the relationship between the teeth, the tongue and the gum, a sub-concept was chosen:
