A couple weeks ago I tested the Canon 550 body and Canon 55-250mm basic zoom lens. I got good results with this combo; and especially was surprised to get a few good clicks of birds-in-flight.
This time I stretched it a little further, I decided to test the 550D attached to a Tamron 150-600mm high end zoom lens. Well, I was testing both the camera and the lens's performance. In this series you could see all the pictures taken with the this combo.
I visited Kalas near Vishrantwadi and Kawadi Pat (there are many such birding zones within Pune) along with my friend Saby (his photo is in this series) who is equally a good photographer and is passionate about this art.
The Tamron 150-600mm lens mounted on a Canon 550D, did not perform as expected. It completely failed to focus on birds in flight. The lens literally struggled to focus on fast moving objects. Most of the birds in flight I tried to capture resulted in a blur. It was very disappointing.
Of course, some photos turned out well; but being a photographer, I personally know the photos could have been much better!
