[DSGN] Organic Lamp Shade

Project developed to Parametric Design class at New York Institute of Technology.

The objective was to develop a lamp shade with at least 12" x 12" X 12" using the Rhinoceros software and a mechanical technique, that was laser cutting. Moreover, the final product should be translucent.

The lamp shade was fabricated in Bristol paper and the interior structure is Clear acrylic.

To optimize the assembly, the pieces were created so that were used to mount a single fastening to fix 4 pieces. Because the format of the assembled parts and the tension that one does over the other, the dome of the lamp shade designed to be self-supporting.
