Custom paint job I did for my 1969 Vespa Sprint Veloce. 

 

After buying the vehicle, I decided to get comfortable with it and only start the restoration the next year.
Too bad that the color of one of the side panels was not matching the rest of the  scooter.

I was looking for an idea to put on it and finally decided to pay a hommage to Pablo Picasso. His "Guernica" is one of his strongest and most expressive works, it always served as an inspiration for me.

The dimensions of the original artwork were not matching the space available on the panel. I took the liberty of emphasizing some details and exclude others, while aiming for a harmonic impression which recalls the original mood of the painting.

Composition was done in Photoshop. I projected the results on the panel with a beamer and transferred the outlines with a markr.. Final contours were made with acrylic markers.
The whole surface has received a  layer of transparent, non-glossy satin lacquer (varnish) for protection.
