Penguin Classics
For this project I was given the task to create two new layouts for two of the Penguin Classics books. They could be done however we wished as long as they contained the same information that the previous had. Eg: The title, authors name, blurb and the penguin logo. What made this project challening was the choice of which penguin classic book to do. All being well known it was challenging trying to create something new.
The Time Machine Idea
When researching the time machine I often found that the majority of the covers focused on the obvious aspect the time machie itself. So my idea was to instead of looking at the time machine from the outside perpective I wanted to try and visualise what it would look like from the inside, while traveling through time.
Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde Idea
When researching exsisting covers for Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde again I found that it either focused on the formula that trnasformed him or it went for the half and half of his face. Both usually being very illustrator based. My idea for this cover was to imagine as if someone just walked into his laboratory and caught him mid transformation and was then to take a picture of it.
