The Bageera

Tube-Frame Sports Vehicle
A light two-seater sports vehicle, with a 600cc YAMAHA motorbike engine. The power is transmitted from the engine to the rear wheelsby a 5-speed ‘94 VW Jetta’s gearbox and differential. The suspension design is inspired by Formula SAE race-cars, with a double-wishbone SLA design and onboard rockers and shock-absorbers. The frame is designed for maximum rigidity, field of view, and safety; with all appropriate crumple zone considerations based on formula SAE regulations.
The Bageera is the result of my final year engineering project, known as the “Capstone Project”. The completion of the Capstone project is a requirement for graduation for every engineering student at Concordia University.
For my Capstone project, my team and I decided to design and manufacture a two-seater road ready sports-car that gives the passengers the sense of openness and freedom a motorbike would give, along with the safety, comfort, and agile handling of a sports-car.
Our objective was to design the frame and suspension. The engine, gearbox and all other necessary components were donated by the team members and sponsors to the project.
My involvement was to design and oversee the manufacturing of the suspension system, alongside performing my responsibilities as the project’s team leader.

Existing components were integrated into CAD models using 3D scanning technology, allowing for high precision design and calculations.
