My responsibilities:
I was given basic text and a schedule for each of the 4 books. I selected an illustrator to do all 4 of the book covers. I created the electronic files in Quark Express while the illustrator worked on the cover art. After receiving the illustrator's sketches, I sent them to Silver Burdett for approvals. Once given the OK, I had the illustrator create the final artwork with any additional art direction. I made the many type edits to the text throughout the 3 or 4 phases of corrections. After the cover artwork was approved, I created the final files with FPO artwork in place.
