A compilation of fantasy vehicle and attire concepts inspired by the form and function of military vehicles.
Research
I wanted to create a futuristic scene of a barren land in need of water. I decided that the spacecrafts would be the vehicles transporting water and chose to imbue my scene with traits from cactus plants and the streamlined shapes of Uyghur instruments accented with knobs and other extruding details. Using additive and subtractive methods of shape exploration, I arrived at these designs which influenced the architecture and general surroundings.
I turned to older exploration sketches of spaceships for inspiration. Realizing that these concepts were very friendly and cartoony in nature, not exactly conforming with the storylines I had conceived for my current project, I reviewed the elements from my military vehicle research and applied them to my designs, with a heavy emphasis on the canon guns and bodies of tanks.
