Learn Something New Everyday - My Two Pennth

The Brief - To create a peice of work that educates people about fun and interesting facts.

The Concept - To use approriate techniques to educate people about pennies.

The Solution - I have created a book designed to visually and physically engage the reader to make them want to learn more about pennies.
A one pence coin can change hands over a hundred times in a year, compared to a twenty pound note that would change have over 200 times.
I used omnichrome to get this effect on the page
A man ate 350 coins, they weighed 5.5kg and dislodged his stomach into his intestines.
The mint had to change the material one pence coins were made out of because they became to expensive to make. The material they are now made out of is magnetic when previously they were not.
There is a magnetic strip under the page for you to test your coins to see if they are magnetic or not.
Since 1971 there have been 11 billion one pence coins in circulation. 6.7 billion of these have been lost or unaccounted for.
One pence coins are legal tender in the UK as long as the amount does not exceed twenty pence.
One all coinage the Queen face to the right even though on stamps she faces to the left.
The Queen changes her headwear on coins a few times. She starts out with The Girls of Great Britian and Ireland Tiara, this changes to George IV's Diadem and then changes back to the tiara.
