Postcard Correspondence show

Above are the two postcard designs which are a part of Gallery 1988's Postcard Correspondence show currently running right now until the 4th of April.
 
The show involves around making postcards based around either a ficition town/location on any popular culture from films to books and so on.
 
I decided to go with the first alien film as the theme to my designs, from the begining i wanted to produce something with a retro pulp fiction/early sci fi film kind of feel to them. This ended up in me treating these like i was creating mini posters while also utilising nice contrasting colours to bring out the subject matter better.
 
Lets face it alien and its location are basically dull, dank place which usually reflects in most holidays with the postcard representing a more idealic concept to what the actual location is.
