Phased Array Feed Receiver - CSIRO

CSIRO have developed a world-leading phased array feed (PAF) receiver technology with associated data transport and digital analysis systems for the Australian bid for Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Pathfinder telescope – the biggest multinational project in radio astronomy worldwide.

Displayed as part of the Engineering Excellence Exhibition 2013, this touch screen interactive multimedia / model display was active for a year and was instrumental in educating the public about a revolutionary piece of technology entirely conceived and developed in Australia.

The aim was to explain the complex theories and applications that went into developing one of the most critical aspects of the Pathfinder telescope. Working with scientists from CSIRO, I conceived and developed the multimedia display using videos, images, 3D animation and voice over.

Key Responsibilities: Project Management, research, concept development, scripting, 3D animation, voice recording and video editing.

Software used: 3D studio Max, Rhino 3D, Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
